The Agrupamento de Escolas João de Deus (AEJD) is a public school group composed of three schools of the first cycle, a college, a high school of the 2nd cycle, for a total of 2071 students and 202 teachers.
This property is located in Faro and surrounding areas in the Algarve, a region with high rates of unemployment and early school leaving.
The AEJD sets up professional teacher training courses in the Portuguese territory, including the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores. _ In 2013, the school was awarded the "Young Green Project Initiative" prize in the "Green Project Awards" competition. The school group has expertise in communication and in the field of digital skills development.
For the "Jardin sans frontière" project, the AEJD of Faro is involved in the communication field and the dissemination of the project (creation of the project logo, opening of Facebook pages, collaboration with communication tools and dissemination of the project).
The AEJD works on the theme of the project in partnership with gardens such as the Botanical Garden of Funchal and other gardens of Madeira, the University of the Algarve, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture, local or national associations, as
"Glocal Faro", an association that is involved in the quality of the environment,
"Almargem", an association for the protection of the cultural and environmental heritage of the Algarve,
"Algar", focused on composting waste and developing collaborative work with schools.
