PROJECT
The students are involved in this collective project to recreate a garden disappeared after some renovation works occurred in the school area.
This project is an answer to the speech held by Greta Thunberg during the 24th conference at the United nations, symbol of the students’ manifestations against global warming.
Besides improving well being and the quality of the working environment, this team work falls within a cross-curricular approach favourable to the inclusion of students with learning difficulties and to the learning of key and transversal competences
PUBLIC
High school students who have chosen the optional learning of Visual and Audiovisual Arts.
The team of Granada has presented the activity on the occasion of the fourth peer-to-peer training mobility of the project, which took place at the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua, Italy, from 14 to 18 May 2019.

OBJECTIVES

DEVELOPMENT
Creation of an additional work team composed of teachers, parents, town officials, sponsors, ready to collaborate, to plan and schedule the work progress, to focus on the material and technical resources
Dates proposed for the implementation of the activity : March 14, 2019, one day before the March for the Global Climate Strike of young people
Presentation of the subject : integrate the ’disappeared garden’ in a new space of the school. Emphasize the protection of the environment and its role as educational resource, vehicle of cultural experiences and of research
Observation and analysis of the place where the garden will be built : study of possibilities, utilisation, expected new plants. Survey and measurements to define its mass plan and plant palette
Implementation of the garden : tilling, fertilizer, mulch, paths, plantations
Individual writing of stories on the new garden. Display the texts on the walls of the school
Being aware of the impact the new garden will have, its new life, its plants and animals and its implications on the life of the students
