PROJECT
To use the theme of the baroque art as a vehicle to develop the key competences of college students, especially those who are in risk of drop-out, with regard to communication in the mother tongue and mastering ICT
PUBLIC
This educational activity has been presented on the occasion of the fourth peer-to-peer training mobility of European teachers within the frame of the Erasmus+ project, which took place in Padua from 14 to 18 June 2019. It offers a transversal approach to the garden.
The same activity has been exploited at the college and highschool of the Agrupamento de Escolas Joao de Deus of Faro, Portugal.

OBJECTIVES
To contribute to a greater mastering of the mother tongue by enhancing the oral analysis of a text,
learning oral and written expression starting from the vocabulary learnt while analysing a text
enriching the vocabulary linked to the reading of an art work
mastering the tools necessary for online research and presentation

DEVELOPMENT
Field activity. Discovery and observation on the occasion of a visit
The students are invited to :
identify the decorative phytomorphic (plant) and zoomorphic (animal) elements characteristic of the decorations in gilded wood
photograph the elements
In the classroom
1.Mastering the language
Silent reading. The students are invited to analyse a text and highlight the words whose meaning is unknown to them
Drafting of a collective list of the unknown words
Questionnaire on the text
Individual answers to the questions asked
Drawing up of a text using the new words learnt
2.Development of digital competences. Use a software to create presentations online
First, starting from their notes and pictures, the students have collected various documents on what observed and analysed (symbols of plant and animal elements on the gilded volutes),
create a free account on Kizoa,
upload photos, texts, music,
log in the presentations,
in PDF format export or share on the social network.
EVALUATION
It takes into account the ability to :
1)Master the language
Acquire the competence to orally analyse works, a descriptive text
Enrich one’s own vocabulary regarding baroque art and gilded wood
Be motivated to write using a specific vocabulary
2)Digital skills
Learn to master tools like Kizoa which enables the creation of online presentations accompanied by photos, videos, texts, music and the addition of transitions and effects
Learn to reuse them in other contexts
